By the fa...Dear Anonymous, thanks for stopping by. By the fact that you posted as anonymous, I am wondering if you have something against Dr Mercola or if you represent the makers of aspartame. Either is an unfortunate situation. I first learned of the perils of artificial sweeteners from my oncologist, five years ago. All sweeteners were to be on the forbidden list with the exception of stevia. He explained his reasoning and research in detail. He has published many books and is a prominent advocate for the prevention of cancer (and has won many awards for his work).

Sadly, many doctors (even excellent ones) do not advise their patients on the perils of artificial sweeteners and even offer them in their office waiting rooms. This is very unfortunate, and therefore I applaud all that do make the effort to educate both themselves and their patients. I also understand the time constraints doctors have during visits as well as for keeping up with research that may not directly pertain to their specialty (i.e. a surgeon may stay up to date on surgical procedures, but not have time to research artificial sweeteners).

I agree that much of the information sited on websites is not accurate and can be misleading; however, providing links that offer information that can be substantiated in medical journals, books and reports can be more helpful than suggesting readers purchase these publications. Below are a few more links to consider.
http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robbie-gennet/donald-rumsfeld-and-the-s_b_805581.html
http://www.naturalnews.com/034378_artificial_sweetener_disease_ASD_aspartame.html

If you prefer, you might wish to consult some of the great researchers out there, such as Dr Keith Block or Susan Silberstein, PhD. The list is extensive, just check out the cancer prevention section of any book store. Again, I understand that these days we are in information overload, but I ask you to reconsider your stance on aspartame as it truly is a very unhealthy substance to consume.Elyn Jacobshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07310760486932632842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7104821215231101337.post-10529762659093465932012-02-02T07:49:13.381-08:002012-02-02T07:49:13.381-08:00Congrats on surviving cancer, someday cancer will ...Congrats on surviving cancer, someday cancer will be beaten.
But please stop spreading false info on aspartame. Mercola is not a medical doctor and in fact should be charged for fraud. He is making money of on desperate people with issues. All your links are to people making money off very unreliable and unscientific solutions. Research from reliable sources and not these health websites and blogs. I couldn'...I could never get used to diet soda. I couldn't even drink a whole can. One day while eating a low fat yogert, I realized I felt strange, just like when I drink diet soda. That's when it clicked that it was the aspertame. Now I don't even chew gum with aspartame. My father used to get headaches when he used equal in his coffee. He stopped and so did the headaches. I never let my kids drink diet soda.Lyndanoreply@blogger.com
